Congratulations HBO Films on The Pacific!

thepacificFilmed in Melbourne in 2007 and 2008, HBO Films' ten part miniseries, The Pacific, will air on March 14th in the US (to air later in the year in Australia). From acclaimed Band of Brothers fame, the producers, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, have created another epic miniseries, this time set during the Pacific Theatre in World War II.

Melbourne, Australia: An Elite Production Location

We've always known Melbourne is an elite production destination and now it's confirmed with feature film, The Killer Elite (working title), filming in Melbourne this year.

The film, to be produced by Omnilab Media through its production arm Ambience Entertainment, will be directed by Gary McKendry (Everything in This Country Must) and stars Jason Statham (The Bank Job, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).

Pre-production is slated for February with filming planned to commence in April.
