The Pacific - Filmed in Melbourne

Melbourne, Australia is pleased to have been the home of the new HBO miniseries The Pacific.

From executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg & Gary Goetzman comes the epic ten-part series The Pacific. Tracking the intertwined stories of three U.S Marines, The Pacific follows the men across the Pacific Theatre during WW2, from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, to their triumphant but uneasy return home to the U.S after V-J Day.

The Pacific, the largest television mini-series ever to be produced, found a home in Melbourne for 18 months. After a worldwide scouting process The Pacific was brought to life on the streets of Melbourne, in key Victorian locations, and on the intricate 1940's sets at the Melbourne Central City Studios.
